Expect the Unexpected

June 3, 2009

Nikky Hem. The adoptive dog of my friend. Finally got a place to call home. Truly expected the unexpected.

When we least expect it…..

When we least expect it, life gives us challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide wheter or not to accept our destiny.

When i start reminiscing about my past, the headline would be WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO…. yeah, i guess life moves on and challenges, options and trials have all been part of the person i have become today. What ever happened to the girl, with the straight black hair, and a view in life that is colorful as the Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Care Bears? From my little pony, barbie and ballet shoes in her pink room, piano class, ballet class and voice lesson…. What ever happened to all that???? That would be over 20 years ago, and my daily life was filled with the perfume of Anais (who wouldnt remember that fragrance), cassette player, hair accessories in neon colors and and attetude that conquered any new MTV dance moves from the Living Colors. From then on, life became more exciting. New things and relations to explore once you meet the “adult/teenage world. My so called bubble i had my head in all my life suddenly got touched by shades of black and white and with alot of grey shades in it. Life isn’t that great when you feel like crap after a weekend of never ending cigarettes, some amount of drinks and wake up in your own reflection in the mirror with a look that says “my hair is still perfect, great! Later on, the girl talks, the mind games and the play-b-played schemes on guys…. that you share with your best of best friends. When all that came to an end, it was school, graduation, meet the real world of timing and performance. Thats when authors like Paulo Coelho, Haruki M., Dan Brown, Stephen Covey, books like Rich Dad Poor Dad becomes an active part of your life and kinda a compensation on the past-invested time on the dance floor.

Then love hits you, the perfect timing and setting. But in that moment, suddenly life isnt all about black and white and its grey shades. Colors from my childhood starts to emerge and with more flavour to it…..

Unexpected, its the perfect description of my life. My voyage from Norway, to the Philippines, to Ireland and all those vacations and times spent with family and friends.

Expect the unexpected
